“The inspiration behind this installation is a dust storm we all know from the southwest as a Haboob.
I wanted to bring the soft colors, the movement, and the texture from the dust storm to Denver.
Each piece is hand torn, plant dyed and softly inlayed to form a soft pattern of the movement you’d see as the light meets natural fiber.”

About the Art & Medium
Each piece incorporates a variety of materials including:
Kozo hand torn plant dyed in coffee.
Light roast & medium roast coffees were used in two different methods to achieve the soft pink and copper tones.
Chamomile was used to achieve the soft yellow hues.
One piece was made with raw kitakata paper with plant dyed kozo in coffee and chamomile.
This special feature is offered at $100/hr. A portion of every booking will go towards supporting Realm’s artist partner.
