It’s no secret that the fast fashion industry is one of the world’s worst polluters. Though there is only so much we can do as consumers, those small changes make a big difference! We can start diminishing this impact as consumers, by bringing mindfulness into the equation.
We’re starting with a panel discussion on sustainable fashion, featuring a handful of local brands and makers. We’ll be touching on the impact fast fashion has on the planet, how they started their journey as mindful consumers, debunking the unattainability of sustainable items while on a budget, and more!
After the panel, we’re opening up the floor for a clothing swap! So bring digs that you’re ready to say goodbye to, and adopt some new gems. Don’t want used clothing? We have a stellar marketplace of sustainable vendors ready for you! We know it’s not always easy sourcing local vendors and makers, so we’re bringing them to you.
Our goal is to raise awareness on what sustainable fashion is, setting tangible takeaways on how to be a more mindful consumer, and highlighting local slow fashion brands and makers. Education is key, and we want to encourage you to take that extra step of thinking before you buy.
All proceeds go towards The Denver Sustainability Projects’ 2020 initiatives.
